Supporting a Healthier Future

At NCIA, we are committed to fostering healthier lifestyles, and we are excited to share the success of our Smoking Cessation Information Session held at our Career Development Program (CDP)! This impactful event brought together seven dedicated staff members eager to learn about the benefits of quitting smoking and the resources available to support them on their journey.

Leading the discussion was Dan Young from the Baltimore County Health and Tobacco Department, who provided insights into the health benefits of smoking cessation and shared practical strategies for overcoming challenges. Attendees were introduced to a variety of free resources offered by the Baltimore County Government, including counseling services, nicotine patches, gum, lozenges, and the medication Chantix—all designed to make the quitting process more manageable and accessible.

The response from staff has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing appreciation for the informative and supportive environment at the CDP. We are especially thrilled that several staff members have already taken the first steps toward a smoke-free future.
