Bobby was working his recovery program at Charlotte Rescue Mission, when he met NCIA’s recruiter who was about to present about NCIA’s services. He had previous mechanical experience and dreams to have his own business before his addiction took over.
Bobby said that since he could not afford ASE certifications and was unsure how to navigate obtaining them, he saw NCIA as an opportunity for him to have easier access to a career and a second chance to get things done.
While at NCIA, Bobby was able to obtain all his ASE certifications and get his license reinstated. He is working F/T at Woodie’s Automotive making about $20/hr. Additionally, Bobby has started his own mobile mechanic business and is passionate about providing good-quality and affordable work to the community.
“I am so glad I came to NCIA; it has really helped me grow into what I am becoming now. No wasted talent here,” Bobby stated.
He has also offered to return to the center and share his experience with others. We wish Bobby well in all his future endeavors!
