BALTIMORE, Maryland — March 24, 2009— The National Center on Institutions and Alternatives, Inc. (NCIA) today announced that its Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Kirk Larter, was named one of the top “CFOs of the Year” in Greater Baltimore in a competition sponsored by SmartCEO.
Mr. Larter joined NCIA in 2005 and has been a key participant in NCIA’s growth and financial success. Since his hiring, NCIA’s budget has grown from $19 million to almost $23 million, and the number of employees has grown from 500 to 625.
Herb Hoelter, NCIA’s Chief Executive Officer stated, “As the co-founder and CEO of an organization which began in 1977 with two employees and less than $2,000 in capital and which is now operating with an annual budget of $23 million and 625 employees, I have necessarily relied upon many professionals for advice and staff leadership. I can say without hesitation that Kirk has been the most reliable and trusted financial leader I ever had, and I have had to rely upon and trust him with issues beyond financial matters.”
