The therapeutic supports provided to participants of NCIA Adult
Residential Services reflect the same level of attention to the
needs and values of the individual as do the skill training services
available. We provide nursing care as required by individual needs,
including training and monitoring of staff in medication administration,
blood pressure monitoring, glucose monitoring, use of inhalers and
nebulizers, administration of oxygen, special dietary needs, and
dressing changes.
NCIA’s nursing staff also provides scheduled site visitation,
45-day nursing assessments, monitors side effects of psychotropic
medications, develops and monitors the Nursing Plan of Care for
each individual, and serves as a liaison between participants and
their physicians.
Evaluation of psychotropic medications, psychiatric evaluations
and emergency intervention, and counseling for hospital admissions
and discharges are available through our mental health staff. Individual
and group psychological counseling, as well as sexuality therapy,
are also available. Behavioral support plans are developed for each
individual, integrating psychiatric, behavioral, and therapeutic
treatment through comprehensive and integrated clinical services.
