Jayne Gessner

Jayne Gessner joined NCIA in 1996 as director of human resources and became its first vice president in 2002. During Ms. Gessner’s tenure, the human resource department has grown from a two-person office to an 11-person team providing such support services as payroll, staff development & training, recruitment, and corporate compliance, to all departments and programs of the organization.

With prior experience in both the corporate and non-profit sectors, she brings expertise in employment law, unemployment issues and hearings, employee relations, training, recruiting, policy development and administration, and conflict resolution as well as compensation, benefits, and team building.

She is a member of the Job Service Employer Committee (JSEC) and served as treasurer for the local chapter for 15 years. She is also an active member of the Chesapeake Human Resources Association (CHRA), having served as a member of the Spring Conference Committee for 6 years and on the Board of Directors for 3 years. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Managers (SHRM), a national association of HR professionals.
