Cynthia Hodge is passionate about helping others, something she
does everyday while working as a residential director in NCIA Youth
Residential Services. Cynthia joined NCIA 11 years ago as a part-time
residential counselor and has been consistently promoted over the
years. In her current position, she is responsible for the day-to-day
operations of seven units, supervising the house managers and the
delivery of individual service plans, while doing everything she
can to enhance the units and the lives of the youth living in them.
Although she is now in a managerial position, Cynthia continues
to make it her business to create working relationships with all
of the youth here, which is what she truly enjoys. Believing that
every person has goodness inside of them, Cynthia continues to support
the youth, even after they have moved on from the program. “My
mission here is the kids and touching their lives,” she says.
“I can’t save them all, but I can work on it one by
one.”
Professionally speaking: “I pride myself
on the fact that we don’t warehouse youth here – we
treat people individually, and the program works.”
Personally speaking: “I focus on touching
at least one person, making someone’s life better. Over the
years I’ve been very blessed in being able to touch many.”
NCIA is: willing to help those most in need
